Not sure whether the team want this classified as a bug but when you split a post into a new topic it does not create an excerpt (you have to rebuild the post).

We like fixing issues with move, we have seen so many over the years, we will get this sorted.

Thanks Sam… could you also add the ability to create tags when splitting posts to a new topic please? 
Splitting to a new topic then having to go back to it and edit in tags is not only a bit of a pita but it leaves an edit history…
