The composer gets stuck under the header if dragged too far up
A bug has been reported where the composer becomes unmovable when dragged too far up under the header in Chrome on Desktop. nathank shared images of the issue and confirmed it occurs on Meta as well. Johani was unable to reproduce the issue, but nathank persisted that it happens with the Light theme.
nathank tried various troubleshooting steps, including safe mode and incognito window, but the issue remained. pmusaraj later reported a fix, but nathank confirmed the issue still persists on Chrome OS with the latest stable build.
A temporary workaround is to use the fullscreen composer feature, which reduces the need to drag the composer up high.
If you drag the composer bar up to its fullest extent, it becomes impossible to drag it back down again.
The header overlaps the ‘grab bar’ of the composer, making it ungrabbable. The only way to get the composer back to where it should be is to resize the window (if you can) or resize the text. This is a bit of a pain, and beyond the skills of many users!
This is in Chrome on Desktop (Mobile is fine). Sorry I haven’t tested it more widely.
