We have a user at Trust Level 4 to do some moderation work, mostly just moving posts that are in the wrong topic. The issue is that they are not able to immediately delete the announcement that they split the topic, it turns into the (post withdrawn by author, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless flagged) message. For posts like these I think it would make sense for them to be immediately deleted rather than just being withdrawn.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to keep the notification? Then it would be easier for users to see where the posts were moved. Also TL4 are meant to be allowed to ‘delete’.
Most of these posts are ones that don’t belong on the forum, and are moved to a hidden category until an admin gets around to turning it into a personal message.
I do agree that it in most cases makes sense to leave the message that the topic was split, but in the cases where it isn’t necessary, I feel it should be removed immediately rather than 24 hours later.
Then flag the message, which will hide it until a moderator can make it a pm or make the person a moderator?
I think thats a badge of honor for them, shows they have the power, if you look at it like that you can be happy for them in their small moment
Tl4 are now able to delete their posts and the small notifications immediatly.
