We have a topic as banner Topic in our Forum .
I am unable to merge other Topics and Posts with this Topic
The Banner topic doesn’t appear when moving : existing topic is selected and the link is posted .
Troubleshooting done :
Checked with category moderator privileges . same behavior
Checked with admin privileges . same behavior
This has always been the case - and I’d quite like to see this restriction lifted.
I think that the problem is that the default merge behaviour is to merge into the most recent post. That would clearly have to be reversed if the OP is included.
Personally, it would make sense to me change things so as to have the identity of the ‘lower’ (i.e. closest to the OP) post retained including reply relationships and the timestamp of the merge used for the new post (as it already is I think).
