Perhaps opening the hamburger menu shown in the video, and choosing an app?
I have a similar (the same?) problem with chrome on android.
But I found a workaround. While the file view is empty, I was able to upload images choosing for example images works.
I too encountered this problem (Samsung A14).
The thing is that if I chose ‘Gallery’ or ‘Drive’, files would appear. But if I selected ‘My Files’, nothing would show up.

The latest Edge stable version also fixed this.
