Url changes after adding tags

Hi

I am facing a weird issue, url of the post changes when i add/delete tags. For example https://kotoba.wiki/t/isothermal/9618 is a word isothermal with topic id 9618, after editing it changes to ’ https://kotoba.wiki/t/topic/9618. The point here is the word ‘isothermal’ is changed to ‘topic’

Any idea what is causing this issue, i want to keep the original url after editing also.

Can you repro this @tshenry?

I cannot repro on our latest beta (Discourse 2.3.0.beta9). @Rahul_Goswami I see you are currently on Discourse 2.3.0.beta8. Can you try updating your site and see if the problem persists?

I’ve currently tried creating a topic with a matching title and tags. I’ve added and removed tags through the title edit method and through the composer editor with no change to the url.

Thats strange, we have an exact clone of our live site which is “https://staging.kotoba.wiki/t/isothermal/ 9618” , here we do not have any issue.
I was able to debug that after editing the post they are bound to “uncategorized” category, which i think is causing the issue. @tshenry can you look into this?

The staging site is not an exact clone, but it’s not far off.

Staging

Production
Discourse 2.3.0.beta8 - commit a2ddb6cf2d7bf6f393c881383147877dc4657f3f made 3 days ago

Still, given the site on an older commit is having issues and the site on the newer commit is not, it might be worth trying to update your production site to see if the issue goes away.

If that doesn’t fix it, then can you provide a screen recording or detailed steps to reproduce the issue? I’m not clear on what you mean when you say “after editing the post they are bound to “uncategorized” category.”

Be aware that Discourse is a discussion software, not a wiki software.
If you use Discourse as a wiki, you will soon encounter limitations that are inherent with the core philosophy of Discourse.

Hey @zogstrip. Thank you for replying. I am well aware of the core philosophy of Discourse and that Discourse is a discussion software. If you don’t see any replies in the link which i have given, it doesnt mean that it is a wiki software. The website is still in its initial phase. Feel free to message one to one, I would be happy to explain all the flow of this Product. But please if you cannot help with my issue on which we are discussing here, there is no point replying here .
