User menu can be hidden behind hamburger menu using keyboard shortcuts

Description: Previous menus are not closed when using a keyboard shortcut to open another menu, allowing side effects such as the hamburger menu covering the user menu.

I expect the previous menu to be closed prior to opening the new menu, as happens when clicking.

Reproducible steps:

  • Press = to open the hamburger menu
  • Press p to open the user menu
  • User menu cannot be seen behind the hamburger menu
  • Press = to close the hamburger menu
  • User menu can be seen


Note the border around the profile icon changes shortly after the hamburger menu opens in the video, indicating the user menu has opened.
