I couldn’t find this anywhere. A new user has commented on the platform, but their comment is greyed out and marked as unassigned.
Anyone know why?
The grey writing is because you can edit this small action post with the edit pencil icon on the right.
Is this user a staff member or are they part of a group that allows them to have access to the assign plugin?

No, neither. They’ve newly signed up.
I’m not sure i quite understand what you are asking then.
The screenshot looks like a user with a ‘J’ avatar has unassigned @ANDYATFOCALLOCAL from a post or topic, and left a comment.
Have you set up the assign plugin correctly?
