I have something I’d like to add to this.
I recently sent a Moderator Warning PM to a user, who immediately went in and removed himself from the message. 
For warnings, shouldn’t this feature be turned off?

I moved your reply to a separate topic. I agree users shouldn’t be able to remove themselves from an Official Warning PM, that pretty much defeats the purpose.

Sorry, I was saying I agree with you that users shouldn’t be able to remove themselves, not that they currently are unable to. Edited my above post.

Right but does it matter? They clearly saw it, staff can add them back in any time if they need to, etc?

In this case, yes, it mattered, I needed to know if he was doing something purposefully or if he really didn’t understand what he was doing wrong.
Turns out that even though I’d warned him several times, he hadn’t bothered to try to understand. Spent over an hour trying to teach him to use the “Edit” button. Still doesn’t understand.

Lamento reabrir un tema antiguo. Estaba investigando este problema. Estoy de acuerdo en que si un usuario advertido se elimina a sí mismo del PM de advertencia, eso indica que el usuario ha visto la advertencia. Probablemente sería técnicamente posible evitar que los usuarios se eliminen a sí mismos de los PM de advertencia, pero no parece ser un problema que surja con mucha frecuencia, por lo que implementar eso probablemente no sea algo que deba priorizarse.
Hay un problema menor de interfaz de usuario cuando un usuario se elimina a sí mismo de una advertencia. El recuento de advertencias todavía se muestra para el personal en la página de perfil del usuario, pero al hacer clic en el enlace de advertencias, se accede a /u/<nombre de usuario>/messages/warnings y se muestra el texto “No tienes mensajes”:
El PM de advertencia todavía existe, pero ya no está en la bandeja de entrada de warnings del usuario. El registro UserWarning todavía existe en la base de datos. Esa entrada contiene el user_id del usuario advertido y el topic_id del PM de advertencia. Parece que sería posible utilizar esos registros para enlazar a advertencias anteriores enviadas al usuario en lugar de enlazar a /u/<nombre de usuario>/messages/warnings.
