I want to accomplish something with Discourse AI that is very simple and, in my opinion, common usage, but I couldn’t find a way to do it.
Whenever somebody creates a new post (in a new topic or an existing topic), our moderators need to reply to that topic.
All I want is a button like “Draft response” or “Create answer,” so that AI will generate a reply to that topic in the reply editor. Then I want to review it to make sure it’s correct, modify it if needed, then click Reply.
That’s all. The only similar feature I found is using AI Triage to automatically create whisper posts. But that’s not exactly the same — I want to choose which topics to reply to, and I don’t want my topics flooded with duplicated whispered and public posts.
Am I missing something, or is this feature not available?
AI Triage doesn’t have to be a whisper, it can also be a public post, but it’s still automatic so it doesn’t suit your request for a button. So you’re correct in that there’s not currently a feature like this.
You could also create an AI bot that you can ask to generate a response in chat, which looks like this:
I suppose a natural place like this would be our AI toolbar button, we could consider adding a “generate reply” option here… currently this is more focused on editing what you’ve written.
I think we need to wait a tiny bit here, we will be able to get this done quite naturally in a couple of months
@Falco and team are shifting helper to lean on personas, part of the work could be allowing an AI helper action to wire to a specific persona, with that in place we could certainly build something like this
