Title says it all. I’m trying to invite new members to my private forums, but when I go through the “Invite members” process, I am unable to select a group (and cannot find any groups by searching) for these people to be invited to.
Is there another way I can accomplish this? Do I just need to add members to groups after they sign up?

A little update: My groups both say “closed” on the group editing screen. I only want people who have paid in advance to gain access to these groups, so I figured that was the right setting. But it appears that closed groups cannot be selected on the invites? This doesn’t really make sense to me.
Hmm, my forums are private, so invites aren’t working for people. I only want people who have paid to be able to access these forums; I feel like if I open registration, then anybody will be able to sign up.
Is there a way to restrict sign-ups to only people I’ve invited?
Ok, I was finally able to get this working. Here’s what I had to do:
I now see why this works, but initially, it felt like these settings had some overlap. When you’re concerned about the general public NOT being able to register, it makes sense that you might get these settings wrong on the first go-round.
