Where did ‘category style: square’ go?

Here on meta we use the ‘bullet’ option - does that give you the result you’re looking for?

You are completely right. Totally forgot I had the following CSS enabled:

span.badge-category-bg {
    border-radius: 5px;
}

span.badge-category-parent-bg {
    border-radius: 5px;
}

Somehow I thought circle was a default option as well and “bullet” for a circle made sense because bullets are… well… round
