And if I prefer to read it in French?
Why is Spansih the default? (Out of interest but no lack of affection for Spanish)

Haha. Great combination.
I’m just curious why Spanish?
Does it pick language at random when translating from your native language?

I dont understand. My post in english are now in french for me. I dont know how its works
I think it’s gone rogue.
You should see everything translated into your locale as long as your locale is supported/selected to be translated by the forum admin.
Sometimes it does weird things.

This is a little quirk with the LLM now, but should be fixed with better prompts soon.
Currently the prompt for determining a post’s locale is as such:
The LLM usually fails at its job when the post contains some amount if a language, or indicating that it is a certain language, e.g.
“This post is written in Portuguese” → “pt” when it should be “en”.
This incorrect classification issue can be rectified if we update our post to the correct language, or indicate the correct language… but currently the locale-edit feature is only available to certain groups – just updated it to TL3, which means TL3 folks should now see the
when editing a post (see screenshot below).
There are many quirks with this whole new feature, like locales with regions (en, en_UK), and how one LLM fares better than another.
Regardless this is a good experiment so I’ll be fine-tuning it, so this topic is much appreciated! Docs are coming very very soon.
EDIT: Oh, I just realised only TL4 can edit posts. Will need to re-think this feature.

Are image descriptions also included in the AI’s analysis of the post?
You have a keen eye – yes currently. But we’ve an internal task to refine the prompt to exclude things in quotes and captions.

I see. I had an idea that if a user posts a screenshot of e.g. a forum in another language, the captions may be in that language, causing the post to be translated.
That is Spanish by the way.

Oh boy. Lol. I wrote that first then in my haste deleted and recreated it. I double checked with ChatGPT and it stated Portuguese
. Apologies. Fixed. Same issue though. AI running amock.

Here’s a screenshot @falco to prove I did some (eroneous) due diligence
Or maybe what’s happening is it keeps switching and it was indeed Portuguese at one point … but at the point I took the OP screenshot it was in Spanish … I’m so confused …
