Why does the like count show for the entire topic?

just noticed this, in the homepage the like count shows for the whole of topic instead of the first post, is this the usual behaviour or a bug possibly by the tweaks I have made in my forum.

Which theme or component are you using? It’s probably related to that.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but IIRC the like column shows the total number of likes for the topic.

No, these numbers are serialized to the Topic List, something that can only be controlled by the back-end or a plugin that has access to it.

It’s a custom one, and just had a view it’s not being handled by the theme.

I think I confused myself there. I had some idea of the likes count for the whole topic, but the part I wrote was referring to the like count being shown on that post (which, I assume, is the topic post).

My bad on that one!

Yeah, it’s part of the normal Topic List serialisation, and iirc it is a count of all the likes:
