Currently, if a user hits the (advanced search button) of the Header Search field without the dropdown being displayed, two things happen:

1. The page navigates to /search?expanded=true appropriately

2. The search results also drop down.

   • This is most unhelpful, and necessitates an extra click to hide the dropdown in order to interact with the advanced search.

Additional point

The UX is actually excellent if the dropdown is already open - it simply closes the dropdown and navigates to the advanced search page.

The issue is only when the dropdown isn’t open - i.e. the user clicks the advanced search button 1st.

Hi, try changing behavior to navigate directly to the advanced search page when the dropdown is closed and only close the dropdown when it’s already open.
