Readonly mode for Google translate

Users are looking for a way to translate Discourse pages using Google Translate without issues. rubo77 found that the usual Google Translate URL parameter doesn’t work due to Discourse serving a JavaScript version to Google Translator. However, disabling JavaScript completely makes it work. rubo77 suggests adding a GET option to enable a no-script view of a page. Meanwhile, riking and ryantm note that the built-in Chrome translate function works fine, but using the Google Translate website still poses problems, such as generating empty translations and forum log entries.

Is it possible to add a parameter to the url, so the online website google translator can translate a Discoure page?

This doesn’t work:

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=en&tl=de&u=https%3A%2F%2Fmeta.discourse.org%2Ft%2F-%2F32056&sandbox=1

Is it possible to get a link with a translated page somehow else? in Firefox? without plugin?

The “translate to {language}” function built into Chrome works fine on Discourse IIRC.

I found out, that that link works fine, if you disable javascript completely, so discourse seems to serve the javascript version to google translator

could you add a get-option to enable noscript view of a page?

@riking is right that the built in function works fine, but sometimes people use https://translate.google.com/ and translating this thread to Chinese, for example, ends up looking quite empty:

It also generates entries in the forum logs.
