Under your user preferences, you may have set the dark mode color scheme to a different one than the default. You can view all color palettes at /admin/customize/colors, I believe.

Eagerly waiting. Had to rummage through a lot of topics to find this info. Will go ahead with the suggestion given in this topic for now. Any way we can add more variables to a color palette? Right now it seems I have to contend with the predefined variable only.
