Introducing our new fullscreen signup and login pages

AI-generated summary

Discourse is introducing a new fullscreen design for its signup and login pages, enhancing the user experience with a more streamlined and focused interface. The update, which is a visual change, will be rolled out over the coming weeks to all communities, including self-hosted installations, though it requires a rebuild to take effect. The new design features a fullscreen layout on both desktop and mobile devices, improving usability and removing modal elements. Users can enable the feature early via the Admin settings by toggling the full page login option. The update has been well-received, with users praising the improved UX and robustness of the new design. A suggestion has been made to allow administrators to add custom messages on these pages, which could be useful for private forums. The change is part of a broader effort to modernize the platform, with the code already merged into the main repository PR #32189.

As we’ve shared previously, we have improved our signup and login pages to use a fullscreen design, which provides a more streamlined and focused experience for your members as they join and interact with your community.

After thorough testing, we’re ready to begin launching this improvement in our communities. Over the coming weeks, your community will be updated to use this new signup and login screen design. This is a visual change, so how members signup and login should stay the same.

Yes, finally! I was waiting for it for a long time. Great UX improvement. :confetti_ball:
The feel is much more comfortable. Also, I believe that being modal-free makes the process more robust. :rocket:

Thanks @lindsey , It’s a very good news.
If I may give a suggestion: it would be nice to have the opportunity to add a little message (e.a. from here admin/customize/site_texts?q=) . It would be very convenient for private forum

A post was split to a new topic: User not directed back to original topic after full page login

Am I understanding this correctly? So Discourse will push these updates to remove the old login from self-hosted installations? So I will visit on April 30th and the forum would have updated on its own?

The update will be available on this date, but it will be effective only after you do a rebuild.
