Catching up with this, nearly 3 years later. My current community site has a wordpress blog and some static pages. Community itself is on facebook, and will be migrated to Discourse. So I’m faced with this issue: do I keep the wordpress blog as the home page and use wordpress to manage static pages (this is all mainly “outwards-facing” content), and have Discourse on a subdomain, or do I roll it all into Discourse on the main domain? And my question is: if I do that, is there a way to replicate my “blog as homepage” architecture with Discourse?
I can set up a separate category for blog posts, where only I can post (but will the general public be able to comment?), and give the community another home page (/support/ maybe?), but will that work cleanly? I haven’t managed to figure that out so far.
