If you scroll up far enough in a topic you have read to regain context, then its sometimes hard to get to the last post you read.

Both of these places could be added as shortcuts in the pop-up on the progress bar:
- First Unread Post
- Last Read Post

Maybe doing both of those is overkill… The first one seems more useful.

Here are a few mockups:

I personally find all these confusing. I don’t want to end up with one of those interfaces that’s just really full of butons.

3 is cleaner but confusing as most of the time that field is pre-populated with the current post.

I think there is likely a better solution to this problem.

I personally think this work should be on hold till we implement a custom scrollbar.

A custom scroll bar has a ton of other advantages, it can use colors to denote areas that are unread, it can display month name or year to the left of the scrollbar as you scroll around. It can be virtual so it can encompass the full topic. It allows us to control scroll position without complex browser hacks.

Totally agree if there are plans to eventually do a custom scrollbar!

J’ai rouvert celui-ci car il m’est revenu à l’esprit comme solution alternative au problème discuté dans cet autre sujet :

Plutôt que de faciliter l’empêchement de sauter lors d’une réponse, je suis plutôt favorable à faciliter le saut en arrière là où vous étiez, ce qui serait également utile dans d’autres scénarios.

Donc quelque chose comme l’indicateur « Retour » qui apparaît lorsqu’on lit un sujet à mi-chemin et qu’on revient plus tard ?

Oui, quelque chose comme ça.

Je pense que cela pourrait devenir bruyant pour certains, donc les détails de la conception pourraient nécessiter quelques itérations. Peut-être qu’il faudrait pouvoir le masquer, ou peut-être qu’il se masque automatiquement après avoir quitté le sujet, ou peut-être que c’est « marquer comme non lu à partir d’ici »… mais quelque chose comme ça, oui.

Merci d’avoir partagé votre idée, je m’en tiens toujours à ma vision enfantine. Je pense que plus nous pouvons offrir d’options aux utilisateurs, mieux c’est, plutôt que de coder en dur une fonction spécifique. L’emplacement du sujet mémorisé devrait être le message « Premier non lu » OU le message « Dernier lu », et les utilisateurs devraient pouvoir choisir ce qu’ils préfèrent.
