Adding a comment when deleting a post or topic

Hey There,

I was wondering if there is an option of adding a comment/reason as to why the topic or post was deleted.

There isn’t (yet).

As a workaround, maybe you can reply to the topic after deleting it†, or edit the post after deleting it?

†I have not tested whether this sends out notifications…

I just send a PM to the member involved, explaining the reasons. We seldom delete topics which have received replies, but on the odd occasion I’ve done so, I’ve generally also PM’d those who replied to explain why the topic was deleted.

On my part, I just edit the post to add a horizontal rule at the top and the reason for deletion above it.
