Right now, if someone flags a post as “inappropriate,” they’re not able to explain why they thought it was inappropriate in the flag submission box. Then, it’s up to the moderators to figure out (guess) why the flagger considered the post inappropriate. The user can type a reason only if they select “something else” as the flag reason.
It would be useful to allow users to explain why they thought a post was inappropriate. (We can always follow up via DM, but that’s more work.)
Is that true? I am not super familiar with the flagging system and have not tested it but my assumption would be that all flags would work the same way.
If custom flags don’t get the “auto hide” functionality, adding it is a feature request. Can you open a new topic for it?
Let’s close this topic because now it is at least possible to disable the provided “Inappropriate” flag and add a custom “Inappropriate” flag allowing free-text explanation for the reason why.
