Allow muting all chat push notifications

Is there any way to mute chat push notifications?

• In Preferences → Chat there is a setting to “Only send chat push notifications” but not a way to turn off chat push notifications.
• In Preferences → Users you can mute specific users but not everyone

I might be missing something obvious. Any help appreciated.

Will wait to see if anyone replies to this but might put in a new post in feature around this.

Basically “Chat Push Notifications” should be handle consistently with how Email notifications are set up on this page. There should be a drop down for them with options for:

• Only when away
• Never

Hey @Earnie_Baird, thanks for reaching out. I’m afraid it’s not currently possible to turn off chat push notifications only at the user preferences level.

At the moment, your best workaround would be to disable push notifications in each of your chat channels and DMs. You can do this from the settings area by switching Desktop notifications and Mobile push notifications to “Never”:

I can understand that this isn’t ideal, though, especially for communities with lots of channels. I’ll convert this to feature so we can start gauging interest for better supporting this need.
