Amazon Onebox broken

Edit: Hey now, looks like it’s broken on meta too!

Searched through the forum but didn’t find anything current on this one. Running 3.3.0.beta2-dev ( 8346f4a1e6 ).

When trying to post an Amazon link, an error results. On my forum I disabled the Amazon affiliate plugin, disabled cloudflare, turned off all content/adblocking, issue still occurs. But since it’s broken here on meta also, seems to be a real bug with no further explanation required.

Interesting. For me, it doesn’t onebox at all. Amazon.com will make a onebox, however.

Wow, that’s incredibly bizarre. My initial post was in Firefox; I just tried in Chrome as well, clean profile with no addons, same issue.

Browsers/Extensions themselves should not be a factor at play here, since oneboxes are done server-side.

I wouldn’t think so, but figured worth a check.

Also broken for .co.uk

There is a bit of a cat and mouse game with the Amazon oneboxes.

They do not support opengraph or oembed so it makes it rather complicated and fragile to integrate.

We will have a look

The bug being reported here is similar to CNN oneboxing failure - #12 by tgxworld. A fix has been implemented so I will expect the reliability of onebox to improve after the fix has been shipped.

I am able to onebox all the reported links locally with my fix.
