Are there issues if you install Discourse in the Main Domain / Directory vs. Subdomain / Subdirectory?

I’ve seen some messages that Discourse doesn’t like to run in the main directory / TLD, and I see the instructions in the discourse/INSTALL-cloud.md at main · discourse/discourse · GitHub

recommend something like discourse.example.com

But I’m only going to be running discourse on this site - the entire site is discourse - I’ll be using the “News” Plugin from Pavillion - so the site will look something like this:

https://www.elektronauts.com/news

Can I, or should I, install Discourse in the main directory or a subdirectory? Any feedback greatly appreciated.

It’s fine to use www as the subdomain. You might check forcewww.com.

I don’t see any reason to put discourse if a subdirectory. (And doing so makes things much more complicated.)
