In a group profile, if I try to change a group name to another name, it works, telling the group name is available, but if I just try to change an uppercase to a lowercase, or another way around, the interface tells me the group name is already used and don’t let me save my modification.

I see. I think the easy workaround here is to simply rename one more time.
banana → banana1 → Banana
Does this work?

Yes this workaround works, but I still wanted to report the bug so it can be fixed for other users
