Category Banner Stopped Showing

The category banners were displaying correctly earlier, but after I added more categories for them to appear in, they suddenly stopped showing both on desktop and mobile.

Just to clarify:

Theme Component: Category Banners

  • The banner is still enabled, including for mobile
  • I used the ‘Object Settings Editor’ to assign the categories where the banner should appear.
  • After making that change, the banners no longer show up at all.
  • ‘Hide if no description’ is disabled

I’ve tried undoing the changes and resetting the category assignments, but the banners still don’t reappear.

I’m not sure if it’s related, but I also updated my forum today.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

(I assume you mean Theme Component, not Plugin?)

Are there any errors in the browser console?

That’ll be in the DevTools, i.e. right click > Inspect, or F12.

Hmm… I’m not sure if that’s related to the component. Could you share what’s under the ‘All’ tab? Thanks.

Huh… that’s odd. Do you mind sharing your theme settings for this?

Also, could you confirm that the component has been added to all the themes?

It’s odd that the TC isn’t working for you. It seems to work fine here on Meta.

No error when I just disabled the Category Banner. Something really wrong in it.

No more errors in the browser console after updating my Discourse forum again, but the banners still aren’t showing up.

Do the banners work when you use the preview button below the component settings?
