Changing categories

Hi,

Our community is about 9 months old now, and I’d like to change the categories we are using as they don’t seem to be doing the job.

Is there a way to change the categories and add existing threads to them in bulk without notifying every user who started a thread?

Yes there is. Using Bulk Actions does not create an edit log, so you are safe to change categories without worrying.

To change categories in bulk:

  1. Click the checkbox icon at the top of the topic list: image
  2. Check the topics you wish to edit in bulk
  3. Click the Admin wrench in the top right corner image
  4. Make the bulk change
