Content Localization and Automatic Translations for Your Community

Hello :waving_hand: This is so cool Nat  Love it

It’s probably already discussed somewhere
when the post was edited it should rerun the translation, I think? If I understand correctly, for now it works like, it recognize the post as translated so won’t do again the translation even if the post was edited?

I don’t think this is the permanent solution

Great question, but no, we currently do not “retranslate when edited”.

While this feature was experimental, we retranslated each edit, but while testing the feature we realised that there are many occurrences where the site was wasting far too many tokens translating edited posts, especially large ones. Definitely something we will revisit.

I see, yeah that would be cool to find a way for outdated translations. Is there any plan to add translate button or translate post with rebuild HTML button but not with rebake posts or other way to force the translation on posts?

I’ve also noticed the lightbox is not working on translated posts.

We use ai bot in our community in topics with mention and automatisation. But translation isn’t working on bot users. I think that would make sense to translate those posts too.

I’m fixing typos, a lot, but not every one at one time. So forcing translation every time is a bit too much. But could there be somekind force translation option in admin menu for those situations when something is changed so much it would ne necessary?

Me too. And inline oneboxes also show a plain link

Definitely something we’d want, but we’ll have to deliberate over the UX here – various options, how to present them, and limits. :writing_hand:t2: Adding to OP.
