Create an "anon" user account without an email address

I want to create an “anon” user, can this be done without going through the sign-up process?

The background, we use Discourse for managing support email. The community is growing too and we have a lot of signups. I’d like to move select topics from the private support category to the public part of the site. But I want to do this anonymously: remove any name and change the topic author from the staged user, generated when the topic was created, to this special anon user.

Users have to have an email address.

You can use something like me+anon-userr@gmail.com and re-use some other email address.

Just be sure with your null anon user you goto the preferences and turn off email notification events.

I have a couple of fake bots and a test user or 2. Setup this way. Manually activate the account.
