"desktop category page style" - Latest Topics only option

I’m looking for a way for the default view to only contain the latest topics.

The default theme only has ‘Categories and Latest Topics’ as an option in “desktop category page style”

What am i missing?

Hi @martyn_thomas you can make any of those nav bar filter pages the default homepage by moving it to the top of the list in admin - settings - top menu (can also put them in any order you wish or select which ones to show)

But also keep in mind that users can override this setting in their user-preferences-interface tab:
