I would like my users to create accounts without email verification. Is it possible in discourse?

The best way to accomplish that is enabling the many social logins, like Google, Twitter, Facebook, Patreon, GitHub, LinkedIn, Discord, etc.
If you have another authoritative user database you can also use Official Single-Sign-On for Discourse (sso) with it.

My idea is to keep participation fairly anonimous. This solución would defeat that purpose.

Discourse isn’t geared towards anonymous posting, but into fomenting long lasting communities. I’d recommend looking for another software if anonymous participation is one of your primary goals.

I would also like to disable email verification. I wasn’t thinking about anonymous users, but that would be good too. I found this plugin; it still works even though it’s 4 years old
