Disabling history for public on wiki posts

We have a lot of wiki posts that are collaboratively maintained by staff, but we would like regular users to not be able to see the history of these posts.

I tried disabling the edit history visible to public setting, but it doesn’t seem to be having an effect. Does that not apply to wiki posts?

What issue are you trying to solve here - what’s the harm in letting users see Wiki history?

As a staff member, you can hide the history of the wiki post by using this button:
