I have setted up a cron Job to execute gdive to sync with my google drive account: gdrive sync upload /var/discourse/shared/standalone/backups/default FOLDER-ID-HERE

What happens if for any reason the backups in your discourse folder are deleted? Are the backups on google drive deleted too?

Yes but google has its magical “history” so you can recover any file if deleted by mistake
