I did the setup part os Discourse. What do I do know?
Did you follow the standard install guide? https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/docs/INSTALL-cloud.md
If so, you should be able to access Discourse in your browser with the URL you configured.
Yes, I did. But when I look up my website it just says " forum.bensforum. xyz ’s server IP address could not be found."
Apparently the IP could not be found.
Did you complete this step on the site where you purchased the domain name?
Your DNS controls should be accessible from the place where you purchased your domain name. Create a DNS
A
record for thediscourse.example.com
hostname in your DNS control panel, pointing to the IP address of your cloud instance where you are installing Discourse.
Thanks, this will help me.
What type would it be CNAME, A record etc…
You need an A record that points forum.bensforum.xyz
to your server’s IP address
Thanks alot, I will create that now.
