¿Tiene su máquina suficiente RAM y espacio de intercambio? Los comandos free o top pueden indicárselo. También puede probar con:dmesg | egrep -3i kill

Well, oddly enough, my upgrade just failed the same way! I had successfully updated docker manager and data explorer, and got the ‘killed’ failure at the same step, running uglifyjs on the same file.
I have a Digital Ocean droplet with 1G RAM and 2G swap, and a relatively small forum (a backup is 700MByte)

A costa de un poco de tiempo de inactividad, logré completar la actualización aplicando el método de solución habitual:

Sin embargo, dado que 1 GB de RAM + 2 GB de intercambio es la configuración mínima recomendada para un foro pequeño, parece que algo no está bien aquí.
Durante la reconstrucción, el uso de memoria virtual no fue demasiado grave; el punto más bajo, durante el mismo proceso de uglifyjs, fue:

Esto probablemente está relacionado con los cambios en el gestor de Docker que intentan mantener el sitio en funcionamiento durante más tiempo durante la actualización, lo que habría aumentado los requisitos de RAM durante el proceso de actualización.
La reconstrucción del contenedor siempre funcionará porque detiene el sitio temporalmente, por lo que obtiene la máxima RAM disponible.
