"dt7948 is not defined" error on discourse.com-hosted site and safe-mode not working

When trying to access our discourse site (hosted by discourse dot com) I get the blank page and “dt7948 is not defined” error in the JS console described previously. Unfortunately going to https://our-site-name.our.domain/safe-mode redirects immediately to the login page and more of the blank page.

From the previous discussion I suspect that this might be an error with a theme, but unfortunately, since the safe-mode trick isn’t working I cannot figure out how to access the site to debug and fix the problem. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi @pvanheus, to get into safe mode on a “login required” site, the best thing is to go to /u/admin-login, enter your admin email, and enable the safe mode checkbox.

That should send a magic link to your email inbox which will log you in under safe mode, so that you can go to the admin panel and disable the problematic theme.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you! That worked - and then updating the theme (“Sam’s Simple Theme”) fixed the blank screen problem.
