Feedback from customers on the live chat feature

Thanks for releasing the live chat feature, our customers really like it!

We had the following point of feedback:

“One issue I’ve found with it is that on an iPad when your typing the message is hidden behind the keyboard and you can’t see what your writing. Obviously it is not a life threatening situation but it would improve an already fabulous experience if it moved the message up above the keyboard.”

Also, if you set the direct chat limit to 0, it would be good that customers didn’t see the private message function as customers are getting a bit confused with the error.



On iPad, I think full screen works better for chat than the drawer mode. We’re discussing how best to address that, but you may recommend that to folks who bump into this issue in the meantime.

There are a couple settings here. Are you referring to the “chat max direct message users” setting?

0 is a bit of an odd setting, but we allow it as we know people do appreciate using DMs to themselves as a quick way to keep little notes. Perhaps in your case if you really wish to disable direct messages, you can limit “direct message enabled groups” instead?
