I’m using personas across different forums as part of an autoresponding automation. Each persona is tailored to a specific forum and provides contextual replies when mentioned or triggered automatically—they aren’t meant to be selected manually or used in direct conversation.
However, even when I uncheck “Allow personal messages” in the persona settings, that persona still shows up in the composer dropdown and can be selected. This leads to a situation where users can start a message thread that the persona won’t actually respond to, since it’s not designed for that use. In contrast, unchecking “Allow chat direct messages” does remove the persona from chat, which is exactly the expected behavior. I’d love to see similar control for visibility in the composer.
Ideally, there would be a checkbox like “Hide from composer” or similar to prevent confusion. Since these personas are only intended for automated replies within a specific forum context, allowing users to manually message them creates a mismatch and clutters the UI.
I’m also not sure if there’s a reliable way to hide persona choices via CSS, or if that would even be the right approach.
What’s the best way to handle this? Is there a workaround, or should this be considered a feature request?
Thanks for the help!
