Hide text fragment from guests

Hello friends,

I need to do the following. I want to make a theme, but hide a fragment of the text, which is only visible to registered users; and in this sense, visitors will receive a notice that they must register to be able to read that text.

It’s possible?
Is there a code, function or plugin that can do that?

Do you mean in a post or as part of a banner or something?

I am referring to a part of the text of a publication. I understand that I can set confidence levels and other things for a whole topic or categories; but I need just a part of the text.

For example, among other things, I want to run a contest, and I want the steps to only be visible to registered people, those who are not must register to know how to participate; but I can’t make the entire contest private, because then visitors won’t even know it’s active nor will they know what it is about.

A theme component can hide text, but it’ll still be visible if people look at the code.

You could advertise the contest in a category that everyone can see. This is the easiest way.

I’ll explain why I want to do it.

Basically, more than a contest, they are gifts in cryptocurrencies; So there is no point in giving away cryptocurrencies to people who are not part of my community; That’s why I want you to see all the information, except for the codes on how to claim the gift.

Although I think that another option may be to indicate that they should comment on a keyword, and use a bot to send them an automatic message; although it would be more tedious and spend open credits even unnecessarily.

I believe that to hide information in a post you will need a custom plugin. I’m sure that you need a plugin; it’s possible that one exists that I don’t know about.

If you don’t have a $300-1000 budget for such a plugin, then the easiest way to solve what I think is your problem is to have a public topic that says "You want something great? Well, you have to do something to be able to have access to link_to_topic_in_private_category.

I did find this one. But may need some fixing at least for Tests-passed

Was having some issues getting to work right. Ie I could post as admin to show content to groupA. It will display for me Bing in that group but not my test user in that group

Blockquote from formatting bar may expose content if used. Would likely want to turn edits only viewable by staff…

As Jay said though a clever user could get around this. Plugin would be best with sensitive info.

If Self Hosted maybe a link to a Private topics(plugin) enabled category. Where only Staff can create topics and say your group can see. A link to a post in the private category should only work if current user is staff or your chosen group
