For our particular application this is useful for top-level categories, but do not need it for sub-categories.

How can I delete this topic? It seems it is not possible.

Deleting "About xxx Category

These topics cannot be deleted, no. If you don’t want them, leave the default text (so it isn’t used as a category description) and unlist the topic. Users won’t be able to see them.
