🧩 How to Build an Android App User Community with Discourse? [HeyApks Project]

Hi Meta Community,

I’m currently managing a platform called HeyApks.com, which offers a wide selection of Android APK files — from trending apps to popular modded versions.

To enhance user engagement and trust, I’m planning to build an official community forum where:

Users can discuss apps, share feedback, tips, and reviews.

Developers can introduce their apps and respond to user feedback.

The community can report issues, request apps, and talk about Android security, performance, and customization.

:bullseye: Main Goals I’m considering using Discourse to:

Create a space for in-depth discussions around Android apps (similar to XDA, but more accessible for casual users).

Integrate Discourse login with HeyApks’ existing account system using OAuth2 or JWT.

Automatically generate discussion topics whenever a new app is published on HeyApks.

Display community ratings and discussions directly on the app’s page on HeyApks.

:red_question_mark:Questions for the Meta Community Are there any recommended or official plugins to implement OAuth2 or JWT login integration between an existing site and Discourse?

What is the most efficient way to sync content between the main website and Discourse? (API? Webhooks? Custom plugin?)

Has anyone here launched a forum for an app repository or app-sharing platform? I’d love to hear your experiences, lessons learned, or best practices.

I’m very excited about the potential of building a strong Android app community around. Looking forward to your insights, recommendations, or examples of similar implementations!
