It’s localized, but all other post controls can be customized by admin (under js.post.controls
), so I’m assuming this is a bug.
I just customized it here on Meta without problems.
Okay, this is strange:
- I can’t find it by searching for the localized text (as it appears on the website)
- I can find it by searching for (probably the default, non-localized) “like this post”
- it appears as
js.post.controls.like
and “like this post” in the results - if I click to edit it, the localized text is there
So, I was indeed wrong to claim it can’t be customized, but the process is rather convoluted and I still suspect it’s not working as intended.
I just searched for “like this post” and edited the first result, which was js.post.controls.like
. After refreshing the page I can see the new text, so it’s working as expected for me.
Also searching for the new content works fine:
I have reverted the customization now.
Are you trying to edit a non-default locale or something more complicated like that?
Yes, I’m using a non-default locale; not sure if it matters, but it’s Romanian.
So the problem is that you can’t search that key by the romanian default content while browsing the forum as admin in the romanian locale?
Yes, but the behaviour isn’t consistent; some I can find by searching for the localized version, others behave the way I described here.
