If you are the author of a post, you will only see the like button if your post has received a like.

If that’s not what’s going on here, there are a couple things to check on:

• Ensure that “like” is listed in the post_menu site setting
  /admin/site_settings/category/all_results?filter=post_menu

• Try accessing your site in safe mode to make sure a theme or plugin is not hiding it
  /safe-mode
