Is there an option to sort "Chat channels" (in the Sidebar)?

Hello

I would like to classify the Chat channels in the order of my choice.

I tested adding a number in front of the name…without success.

  • Could there be a solution?

  • I can’t find the criterion used…

There isn’t an option to sort them manually at the moment I’m afraid.

As to the default ordering, I thought they were alphabetical and numbers come first. That’s how it works when I test them. Your screenshot however seems to work differently. I’ll try to find answers to that.

It works with the numbers, but you have to change the number in the slug. The sorting algorithm only takes the slug as reference. That’s actually super cool because it allows to easily control the order of the channels without having to edit their names in odd ways.

An option to offer “dynamic sorting by last activity” would be great - just like SLACK and all the others.

I’ve never understood that. It breaks muscle memory totally. Most of us are operating on autopilot.

But it could be an option, of course.
