Localized discourse ID login page?

Hi there,

Thanks for the Discourse ID, I’ve been testing it in my self-hosted instances and what I’ve observed is that the login screen when people get redirected is only in English, even if my users browser is in Spanish.

Is this just a missing translation or Discourse ID doesn’t have localization yet?

Asking because my users a very low technical users and feel even more confused by a page in English.

Thanks!

That’s a good question, thank you. I will move this into the Feature category, essentially this is a request for ID to respect the user’s browser language, at least on the login/signup screens.

We will look into it in the coming weeks.

Isn’t that just flipping Set locale from accept language header ?

It’s a little bit more involved. We need to enable the allow user locale setting too, and make sure that any custom copy in that instance has translations for the most common languages.

Some how that troubles me as a Finn very much… But propably I lost context because I don’t know what custom copy means now.

But in general — missing such general feature as localization shouldn’t be as a feature request, but an UX issue.
