I see, on the sidebar, a new item: Invite. It seems that I can send invite links like this, as well as editing the length of expiry for these links. Surely this is new, or am I just ignorant of this?

This PR adds a new "Invite members" link to the sidebar for all users who can in… vite to the site. Clicking the link opens the invite modal without changing the current route the user is on.

but it is just like any link in that section that an admin can add, remove or edit:

Good news! We have now added the invite link to the sidebar on all sites, and selecting it opens the invite popup directly. The link is only shown to people who have permission to invite.

For those sites that prefer not to have the invite link so prominent or want to move it below ... more they can set it up as they see fit by using “Customize this section”.
