Is there already a “New User” message that a new user sees (and must read) when joining a discourse forum? If so, Let me know how to edit this. I’d like to add some forum-specific text to that.
This is the discobot welcome message a new user sees after joining:
discourse_narrative_bot.new_user_narrative.hello.message
Is there a way to see what the text will look like to a new user?
Yes - start a new PM with @discobot with this in the message body:
@discobot start tutorial
Wow!! How cool is that?!
Ty!
If a user skipped the new user tutorial, no such message will be sent so it’s not a must read one.
Is there a way to make it “must read”?
