The good news is that that Feed is RSS 2.0 and does in fact have images in an enclosure tag. As such, they show up as expected.
I’ve loaded the feed on try.thepavilion.io/news as an example. Please make sure you have the following site settings:
discourse news enabled: true
discourse news source: RSS
discourse news rss: https://cointelegraph.com/rss/tag/altcoin

Is it possible to tag a post as News so the news is from this certain post in a topic ?
Better explaination: In our forum, members regularily posts news and I’d like to apply a news tag to this post to make a news.

The plugin currently supports using a category for the news source, but not tags.

Just to point out that Tags are not Post concepts, they are Topic level, so what you are asking for is challenging in any case.

That’s what I was thinking as I was typing…
Is there a way to identify a post, apart from the post id, to extract these posts ?

Looks like there’s a conflict between the plugins. @merefield and I will discuss and get back to you

Yeah these two ‘plugins’ do something very similar so aren’t really intended to work together. TLP is definitely not developed and tested with News Plugin installed.
It’s not completely unreasonable to get them to work together but that’s going to be very low priority for me.

Minor Bug: … and can’t really say it a bug; may be a UX edge case. If the header is a dark color, the News item in the header is not visible. Incidentally on my setup it was the same color as the header background. After lookin through the forums, I suddenly hit CTRL + A on my site and it showed up
Not sure what’s the way to highlight it but may be a apply a default setting of a colored background (which can be disabled by the admin)? Thanks

Jay, (or any other News Plugin Users) do you have any insights on why this /News plugin might be blocking google from properly creating a meta tag for the site.
My Site Description info is being completely ignored by Google - so I get no description in the google results page.
Is anyone else using the NEWS plugin and having this problem?
Here are details on my Problem:
I’m not a CSS expert/coder - Is there any easy way for me to have a better caption for Google Search results - for example the site description (or similar) from the “About Page”, for my discourse forum/News Plugin.
Here (below) is what it looks like right now - when I search on google for “rapamycin news”
and I would like a better top level textual description for the website before the list of posts:

This is unrelated to the News Plugin. See further
Hey @BCHK
No. The news plugin will not affect the content your website serves to Google’s crawlers.
As others have pointed out in different ways, it’s not really up to Discourse. Discourse provides a meta description tag, and yours is appearing in the head of https://www.rapamycin.news as expected. It’s up to Google to decide what to do with that.
<meta name="description" content="Rapamycin and Anti-Aging Medicine Users' Group Discussion Forum">
Exactly - I think this …

In Darkmode Newsfeed is not showing correctly.
Any suggestions .? Thank you
Yeah, that has been a long term issue as the plugin has never been made compatible with user-selected light/dark modes.

I’m also interested in dark mode. Would it be possible to request it as a feature? Thanks Angus.
