We had a user complain he didn’t receive a response to his post.
In fact, he did get a response - just 8min after he posted.
I checked his notification preferences & noticed the caveat about notifications:
Does this 10min window mean that no email was sent because the reply was too quick? How should I understand this?
It mean’s that if he was seen active on the site in the past ten minutes then no emails would be sent. The only notifications would be on-site.
I wonder whether increasing email time window mins (“Wait (n) minutes before sending any notification emails, to give users a chance to edit and finalize their posts.”) to above 10 would get round this.
I suppose it depends on when Discourse decides whether to send the notification email (based on the post time or based on the delayed email notification time).
